April 7-Kidsfest week

This is all child-led and child-driven. The Italian mountain scene was drawn and painted by our 3rd graders!

Maria Montessori was from Italy which was our country this year. One student chose schools for their topic and created the first Montessori school. (Casa Dei Bambini)

Another student research Maria Montessori and this is his project of her timeline of life.

My daughter studied and researched Spanish schools since her country was Spain. This is her Spanish school. They get 3-course meals in their schools!

Reflect: What lessons did my work/experiences teach me that I will build upon next week? I have spring break this week and I am ready to spend time with my family and rest.
Focus: How are my short-term efforts and my long-term goals still aligned? I passed edTPA and this aligns with my goal to graduate.

Have Courage: How did apprehension and indecision impact what I did and didn’t do? None
    • Begin Anew: What is the first logical step(s) for next week? What mental clutter can I clear? When coming back from a break it is very important to review the schedule and expectations.  If there were any changes that need to be made coming back from break is the time to make them.
What were some data you analyzed this week and how did it help inform your instructional decisions? I reviewed my interest survey from my behavior student so I could help him with managing all the differences this week.
What is one piece of advice you can share with other student teachers? Model the behavior and tone that you would like to see from your students. Be prepared. Observe your students regularly.

Pick an element from standard one of the evaluation tool and explain some activities/strategies you implemented this week to increase your rating for the element. I showed leadership by maintaining a calm classroom where students were working on both independent work and kidsfest projects. I feel like this is because our students know the expectations.
Pick an element from standard two of the evaluation tool and explain some activities/strategies you implemented this week to increase your rating for the element. I created a respectful environment for diverse students by meeting the needs of my student. It took a lot of patience from me and a lot of self-control from my student to make it through the week with all the changes. I followed their lead and offered breaks and outs as needed especially on the day we tour all the classrooms.
Pick an element from standard three of the evaluation tool and explain some activities/strategies you implemented this week to increase your rating for the element. I know the content I teach and I was prepared for lessons. I know how my lessons align with the standards.
Pick an element from standard four of the evaluation tool and explain some activities/strategies you implemented this week to increase your rating for the element. Not only did our students see presentations from other countries they presented their research on the topics they chose about Italy. I taught Roman Numerals and related to our Kidsfest country.
Pick an element from standard five of the evaluation tool and explain some activities/strategies you implemented this week to increase your rating for the element. I try to reflect on my lessons often. I make changes as needed to be prepared for the next time I give the lesson.
